The company
My client is a leading surgical company in Christchurch, covering a variety of specialist medical, cosmetic, and surgical skincare procedures.
The role
This organisation is seeking a medical typist to join their tight-knit team for a 5-week period in the lead up to Christmas. This role is a part, 20 hours per week and based in Christchurch CBD. Your days of work will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays. You would need 2–3 years of experience in the medical or health sector as a medical typist, alongside high levels of computer literacy, typing, literacy and grammar.
Responsibilities
- Accurately type from dictaphone into the patients' notes, patient letters, letters to GP and other specialists.
- Proofread all patient letters and correspondence, correct, and edit where necessary
- Enter all diagnoses and allergies into the patients' notes
- Check patient lists for the day and check off against the dictation to ensure that they have notes dictated
- Give reception all scanning documentation
- Send letters electronically to doctors and other specialists
- Send patient letters via email if applicable
