We are seeking a motivated and adventurous Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our maintenance team at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. This unique opportunity involves working in one of the most remote and challenging environments on Earth.

Sheet Metal Fabricator Needed for Maintenance Project in Antarctica
Location: McMurdo Station, Antarctica (approximately 1000 residents in summer season)
Duration: November to March
Rate: $38-$40 (WAGES) $48-$50 (CONTRACTING)

The role:
  • Assist in performing routine maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment (ideally you will be an experienced stainless steel fabricator)
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with other team members to support station operations

Requirements:
  • Proven Sheet Metal Fabricator experience + references
  • Open work rights in New Zealand
  • Ability to pass medical, dental, and background checks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work in extreme conditions and adapt to a unique living environment
