Your new company

My client is a leading Wellington-based enterprise level organisation. They are currently on the lookout for a Senior Java Backend/Integration Developer to join their OPSM (Outage Planning System Modernisation) project.

Your new role

As a Senior Developer, some of your key responsibilities will be as below,

• Work closely with architects to understand the existing IONS architecture and propose enhancements.
• Design and build quality software using the chosen technology stack (see technologies section below)
• Works closely with the Technical Lead on the project to ensure application services development best practices are being adhered service.
• Determines what processes are needed for development within the project and works with the Technical Lead to ensure these are set up
• Ensure key complex quality or non-functional code questions are raised at the DevOps Review Board forum where appropriate - this includes questions around standards, frameworks, code style, what is right/wrong/good enough etc

What you'll need to succeed

Solid work experience on the below tech stack,

• Java/SpringBoot (must)
• Apache Kafka (must)
• Apache Camel (ideal)
• SQL Server Database (ideal)
• Git (must)
• Distributed services / REST / micro services architecture (must)
• Experience with Linux/Docker (ideal)
• Familiarity with logging tools such as Elastic Search, Logstash, Grafana/Kibana (ideal)
