Health and Safety Administrator

Opportunity to utilise and develop your health and safety skills in a large construction organisation
This organisation is one of the largest crane hire companies in New Zealand and over the years has expanded significantly. They are now looking for a Health and Safety Administrator to come on board in a temporary capacity to cover parental leave.

The role

This role plays a crucial role in supporting the organisation’s commitment to a safe and healthy work environment. It is an immediate start and is expected to go until October, with the possibility of extension. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and organise health and safety documentation, facilitate health and safety meetings
  • Monitor and coordinate employee training requirements.
  • Maintaining detailed records for health and safety performance, incidents, accidents, and near misses
  • Communication of Health and Safety policies to staff and coordinate emergency response training and drills
  • Schedule OH&S medical assessments and health monitoring and support employee wellness initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Preparation of audit and compliance checks
What you will need:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a health and safety role or a similar administrative position.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in maintaining health and safety records and documentation systems.
  • Experience in coordinating and scheduling training courses and managing compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and organisation skills and the ability to maintain and foster positive relationships at all levels
  • Core knowledge of ISO45001 standards and their application
