Tō tūranga hou | Your new role

As a Bid Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the process of preparing and submitting bids to secure new contracts for large scale, infrastructure construction projects in NZ.

Some responsibilities include;

  • Bid Preparation: you will gather all necessary information and documentation to create a comprehensive bid proposal. This includes understanding project requirements, estimating costs, and outlining timelines.
  • Coordination: you will work closely with various departments, such as engineering, finance, and legal, to ensure all aspects of the bid are accurate and feasible.
  • Documentation: preparation of detailed documents, including pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and tenders, which outline the company's capabilities and proposed approach to the project
  • .Compliance: ensuring that all bid submissions comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Assessment: identifying potential risks associated with the project and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Client Interaction: communication with clients to clarify requirements and negotiate terms, ensuring the bid meets the client's needs and expectations.
  • Review and Submission: reviewal of all bid documents for accuracy and completeness before submission, often working under tight deadlines

Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed

  • Prior experience in a Bid Management role is preferred

  • Proven experience in large scale civil construction in a commercial manager, contract manager or senior project director role will be considered - ideally within a Tier 1 company.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills - you will be working with multiple teams on both national and international levels

  • Very strong network of NZ Civil construction companies and contacts

  • Experience in a business development role within civil construction would be preferred.
