Tō tūranga hou | Your new role
The Senior Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the annual site safety plan, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and leading the Health and Safety Management System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the annual site safety plan.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, ANZ safety standards, and global policies.
- Act as the initial plant representative during regulatory inspections.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to the Site Health and Safety Manager.
- Collaborate with other plant functions to align safety management plans with facility objectives.
- Stay updated on developments in the health and safety discipline.
- Develop and utilise tools to measure progress with leading and lagging indicators.
- Manage Worker’s Compensation in consultation with external service providers and the ANZ regional team.
- Plan and budget programs to prevent employee injury and illness.
- Ensure the plant emergency action and crisis management plan is up-to-date.
- Serve as Lead Investigator for significant incidents at the plant.
Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed
- Diploma of WHS minimum, with a Bachelor qualification in OHS ideal.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Health and Safety Manager, with a total of 7 years + as an OHS practitioner.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in emergency preparedness and response, functional machine safety, occupational health and hygiene, workplace ergonomics, ISO 45001 accreditation, and management systems auditing.
- Strong project management skills and a proven track record as a team leader.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead, influence, and coach individuals at all levels of the organisation.
