Assistant Accountant
Seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant in Whakatane.

Tō tūranga hou | Your new role
The role is to perform accounting/finance functions within the business units. This will include, but is not limited to, maintaining the Fixed Assets Registers, completing CAPEX reporting for the business units, compiling the financial statements notes relating to fixed assets and intangibles.
The role includes completing the group intercompany reporting, annual surveys and contributing to the continuous improvement of existing processes. It also includes providing back-up support for the preparation of FBT, GST and indirect tax calculations.

- Holds or working towards an accounting qualification.
- 2+ years’ experience working in a commercial business
- Experience in financial reporting from the trial balance
- Experience maintaining fixed asset registers
- Experience in month-end journals and intercompany reporting/accounting
