Data Analysis: Analyse data and turn it into meaningful information that offers ways to improve a business process and data-driven decision-making
Data Patterns: Identify patterns and trends in data sets and recommend which solution pattern to adopt
Reporting: Reporting the results back to the relevant members of the programme team
Data Sources: with the Programme team to acquire and prepare data for analysis from the relevant data sources
Data Quality: Support users to interpret data, analyse results and investigate data quality issues using statistical techniques and other appropriate methods.
Data Modelling: Design and developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business requirements and best practices.
Database Design: Collaborate with database developers to implement data models in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
Data Integration: Work with ETL developers to define data mapping and transformation rules for integrating data models across different systems.
Performance Tuning: Optimise data models and database queries for performance and scalability.
Documentation: Create and maintain documentation related to data models (in SAP Signavio), data dictionaries, and data lineage.
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience as a data modeller or a data warehouse designer
Strong understanding of data modelling principles, including conceptual, logical, and physical design.
Extensive experience conducting data analysis to validate data models and ensure integrity, accuracy, consistency, and quality.
Proficiency with data modelling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or PowerDesigner, and experience with major database management systems.
Understanding of domain-driven design principles to align data models with business concepts.
Hands-on experience with data governance practices and data quality management frameworks.
Strong expertise in working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to write and optimise complex queries for performance and scalability.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and modern data integration techniques
Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery). Snowflake experience is preferable.
Familiarity with modern ELT tools, especially dbt (data build tool).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with **cross-functional teams**, including business stakeholders and IT teams.
Desirable Skills:
Experience in data modelling as part of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation project.
Exposure to data visualisation tools and techniques (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to bridge data models with business insights.
Understanding of domain-driven design principles to align data models with business concepts.
Experience in data modelling for applications using no Sql databases like MongoDB/ Casandra
