Electrician Needed for Maintenance Project in Antarctica
Location:McMurdo Station, Antarctica
Duration:March to October Rate:
$65 per hour (Contracting rate) PAYE also available
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and adventurous electrician to join our maintenance team at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. This unique opportunity involves working in one of the most remote and challenging environments on Earth, ensuring the electrical systems are maintained and operational in the harsh Antarctic climate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues promptly.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to support station operations.

Requirements:
  • National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electrician Registration).
  • Open work rights in New Zealand.
  • Ability to pass medical, dental and background checks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in extreme conditions and adapt to a unique living environment.
