The Role

Reporting to the General Manager and collaborating closely with the Board, the Financial Controller will oversee financial reporting and analysis, ensuring it supports strategic decision-making. Based in Christchurch, this hands-on position combines financial leadership with the chance to drive process improvements and influence the business's direction.


Key responsibilities include

  • Delivering commercial insight and analysis to the leadership team.
  • Managing financial reporting, cashflow forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Leading banking and financing relationships.
  • Handling payroll, property/asset management, and procurement.
  • Maintaining financial controls and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Enhancing systems and processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Cultivating accountability and financial awareness across the organisation.

About You

You’re a qualified finance professional (ideally CA) with experience in senior accounting or financial management roles, preferably within the primary sector or a service-oriented business.

You possess technical expertise, commercial acumen, and a drive for continuous improvement—all grounded in a practical, approachable manner.

Your attention to detail and analytical skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities, enable you to build positive relationships across the business. Above all, you thrive in a team-oriented, relationship-driven environment and are passionate about making a meaningful impact.
