Your new company

They are a leading Wellington-based enterprise level organisation. They are on the lookout for a Senior Developer to play a key role within their Enterprise Application projects.

Your new role

• You will be responsible for leading the project development team and owning the quality of the developed code on a project (applies to all code - application, integration, automation, scripts, etc.)

• Work closely with the Technical Lead on the project to assess development quality and best practices are being adhered to
• Bring in a long-term product quality view to the project software development (not just project delivery focus) Has the ability to say no (can raise quality issues that may conflict with project date/budget drivers and escalate to Design Lead, Tech Governance Lead or Development Manager if needed) - balance commercial realities with quality outcomes
• Develop the initial framework or platform of the solution which each developer will use to build the solution. Ensure the developers on the team have access to the relevant development tools
• Determines what processes are needed for development within the project and works with Technical Lead to ensure these are set up
• Mentors the developers in the project team and makes sure developers know what processes to follow (e.g. use of pull requests, getting code reviewed, need for detailed designs etc)
• Lead standardisation of code repositories and code management practices

What you'll need to succeed

• Prior experience in leading a team of developers is a must.

• Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall software development environments

• Experience building dev pipeline using continuous integration patterns and automation technologies like bamboo

• Demonstrable hands-on development experience / skills for these languages / frameworks:
  o Java
  o API Integration & development- Must have
  o Spring Framework (Spring Boot – Must have)
  o JavaScript, React (react based frameworks such as react-admin)
  o RESTful APIs / Microservices
  o AWS services – Amplify, Lambda, CloudFront, Route 53, EKS, RDS
  o Kafka
  o Experience integrating disparate systems and knowledge of integration patterns, standards and technologies
